JETSTAR ASIA
About JetStar Asia
Jetstar Asia Airways is one of the few low cost budget airline with its base in Singapore. Being the Asian offshoot of Qantas' Jetstar Airways, the airline offers flight services to quite a number of regional destinations around Southeast Asia.
The main base for Jetstar is the Singapore Changi Airport. The airline performance has much improved in the year 2007 and will expect a much anticipated earlier profitability for the airline industry.
In November 2004, JetStar commenced seven routes to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Pattaya, Jakarta, Surabaya and Manila. This is considered to be a very smart brave ambitious startup plan ever conceived by any of its Asian rivals.
This move had given the company the widest international coverage offered. The very first major consolidation of Southeast Asia's saturated low-cost airline industry has been the merger between Jetstar Asia and Valuair which happened on the 24th of July 2005.
JetStar Asia flies to the following cities from its base in Singapore Changi Airport (main hub) :-
