In September 2004, SIA launched its low-cost carrier known as Tiger Airways with a 49% stake, in partnership with Indigo Partners LLC. In terms of branding and publicity, Singapore Airlines concentrates mainly around its flight crew (eg. Singapore Girl which portray herself as regards to Asian hospitality and grace) which is a direct opposite to most other airlines who usually describe more on either its aircraft or services.
