Singapore Airlines Limited is the national flag airline carrier of the Republic of Singapore. By having its main hub at Singapore Changi Airport, SIA has a very prominent presence in various airline markets of Southeast Asia, East Asia and South Asia.

In September 2004, SIA launched its low-cost carrier known as Tiger Airways with a 49% stake, in partnership with Indigo Partners LLC.

In terms of branding and publicity, Singapore Airlines concentrates mainly around its flight crew (eg. Singapore Girl which portray herself as regards to Asian hospitality and grace)which is a direct opposite to most other airlines who usually describe more on either its aircraft or services.

By getting a lot of awards and accolades for the standard of service which SIA provides, the company also claims to be "The World's Most Awarded Airline.

SIA Frequent Flyer Program

The name of the frequent flyer programme of both Singapore Airlines and SilkAir is called KrisFlyer.

Members will receive benefits which also extends to partner airlines and also other Star Alliance members and Virgin Atlantic.

Revolutionary Air Travel

The A380 will revolutionise air travel because of its larger passenger capacity and it can carry about a third more passengers than the next largest airplen, the Boeing 747.

First Commercial A380 Flight, Singapore To Sydney

The first commercial A380 flight, from Singapore to Sydney, will take off on October 25th 2007.

The new plane will be serving long-haul flight routes connecting airport hubs and major global cities such as Dubai, Doha, Johannesburg, London, New York, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.
