Pattaya, a city in Thailand is situated on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand and about 165km southeast of Bangkok in the province of Chon Buri. Pattaya is one of the most vibrant city in entire Thailand. Pattaya has got lots of things to offer such as theme and amusement parks, offbeat museums, botanical gardens.

Having one of the biggest centers of tourism in Thailand, Pattaya enjoys a tropical wet and dry climate and the city boasts more than 35,000 hotel rooms available. The city's travel reputation has being largely known for it's sex tourism.

However in recent years, Pattaya has seen a large increase in family tourism too, thanks to efforts to present a more complete image.

The rapid growth of tourism in the city however brought about many negative consequences, such as petty crime and prostitution. While Thailand has some of the world's most beautiful beaches, unfortunately Pattaya is not one of them so take note. The government has stepped up efforts to improve the beach but it still remains in a sorry state. Ko Lan is a small island situated 7.5 km west of Pattaya.

Pattaya has a huge international expat population, partly due to it's low cost of living as well as the advanced western infrastructure in place such as modern hospitals, shopping malls, supermarkets, and fast food outlets.

During the night, Pattaya offers a truly spectacular and vibrant nightlife with a wide variety of restaurants, night clubs, bars, discotheques, cocktail lounges and cabarets for you to choose from. Pattaya is famous for its nightlife, some of which revolves around the sex oriented industry. There are many beer bars, go go bars, restaurants and clubs that line the bustling city's streets.
