Sijori Resort would have to be one of the worst Resort I have stayed in.

    Here is my experience.

After arriving at the Ferry Terminal and negotiating the Taxi fare to the resort we arrived at Sijori Resort. (found out the resort had a shuttle to pick you up but nobody bothered to mention this) The Resort was very old and very run down. The water in the fountains were flowing but they were full of mold and dirt. didn’t look like it had been cleaned in years. we got the front desk and were welcomed by the staff, they were very friendly. we were then told we needed to take a shuttle bus to the resort room? sounded very odd, the rooms were atop a small hill. we got to the room and found the room to be very large but again run down. There were holes in the wall where parts of the cement wall had fallen off and not repaired. The room also smelled very bad and stale. We still decided to stay the night despite the appearance. After a noisy night from what sounded like furniture being moved from the above room we decided to walk down the hill to breakfast and we were shocked again.. No wonder they wanted us to take a shuttle bus. the place seems so run down it looked condemned. There were huge Holes in the walking path.. mold everywhere and over growth of the plant life. again we still decided to stay as we were only really sleeping here and going out during the days. had there breakfast which was cold. I decided to try the Driving range (golf) which they gave an old 7 iron??? not a driver. Argh.. ohwell.. out for the day.. Called a Taxi Driver to pick us up.. and low and behold the resort rips you off with the taxi fare.. S$5 more then the return fare which was picked up from the street. Unfortunately the Resort is no where near any taxi’s so you must call one. arrived back at the room and stayed another night. did a few more things in the city then went to Check out back at the resort.

Before we checked out I found a pamphlet displayed on the counter in bright Yellow. Said the room rate was 245,000 RP per night around (45-50S$ at the time) which is half of the price we were paying per night. I inquired about this and they acted dumb and finally said it was for local people only? I said ok but why would the pamphlet be in English and has a terms and conditions which dont say anything about having to have a local id. at this stage I was getting annoyed. Then the bill came and I found out the price displayed on the internet was totally different from the final price.. they have a 21% tax on top of the quoted price. I was really really annoyed at this stage. asked them to get the shuttle and take us the ferry, we waited as others needed to come as well. we ended up getting to the ferry 20-30 min before hand, which i think is pathetic but anyway, I will never go back to this place again even if it was free. ok if your a back packer but you would probably have a better sleep in a tent somewhere. and for the cost of this place its just not worth the time or the hassle.

Oh and don’t believe there website the pictures are nothing like what they really are, they dont have cable TV and the telephone in the rooms is just so you can order room service.
