This fuel surcharge is really unfair for us, frequent traveller. Charges increased, but services and reliability still same, just so so. Instead of it, ferry operator already increase the ticket fare from S$14 to S$18 early this year.
Other weird things, ferry operator charge same costs to trip to every seaport in Batam, eventhough the distance are different. For example, charge for trip to Batam center which take more than 1 hour is same with charge for trip to Sekupang, which is only 45 mins.
There are 3 ferry operators, serves different destinations in Batam. Strangely, the charge for all destination for all ferry operators are the same. Looks like an oligopoly happened here.
