Europe is one of the 7 continents of Earth. Physically and geologically, Europe is the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, west of Asia. It is the world's second-smallest continent in terms of area after Australia and covers about 10,400,000 square kilometres. Population wise however Europe is the third-largest continent (after Asia and Africa) with about 11% of the world's population.
Since the Renaissance Age, Europe has had a dominating influence in culture, economics and social movements in the world.
